London’s Southbank is a wonderful and vibey place on most days, but it really comes alive on the weekends with street artists, food stalls, little markets, skateboarders and of course tourists. The glorious view of the Thames from the bank or from any of the bridges that connects the two banks is always breathtaking. Sometimes, when the weather is exactly right, when the warm breeze of the river gently carries the imagination, for a brief moment, it can feel like you understand the way the universe works, and why without a doubt London is the most amazing city in the world.
I walked from Leicester Square via Trafalgar Square to the Southbank, only snapping a few photos on my way with the wonderful Canon 5D MkII and the Canon 24-70m f/4.0 USM lens. I leave a lot of the experimenting to the post processing, playing with colours and shadows. I’m particularly proud of the soap bubbles shots. Got really lucky with how they came out.
