It’s always a pleasure working with friends and this day in just that! I’m at Snap Studios recording a string quartet group called Vaults Quartet for my dear friends Andy Nichol and Drew Mills who are DeadBeatDuke.
String sections are always fun. It’s organic, real, sympathetic. When the playing is right, all the pieces fall beautifully into place. Today we’ve had the added pleasure of Drew playing piano with the quartet live in the same room, while Andy is producing the performance and myself engineering.
I took the opportunity to take a few photos of the boys and girls. Andy’s face is full of stories and mystery much like the great man himself.
